Upcoming Events

New Year, New Bible Study
To start off 2018 we’re going to journey through some less studied, perhaps less read, but perhaps easier (because of their length) books of the Bible. Join us for one or all six! As before, we will meet Mondays
Jan 22 – Philemon
Jan 29 – Esther
Feb 5 – Ecclesiastes
Feb 12 – Song of Solomon

York District Rally 2018 for clergy and laity will be held Saturday, February 24, 10:00 am-4:00 pm at Bethany and St. Paul’s UMC, Red Lion, PA. Join fellow UM’s for a day of worship and workshops. Brochures are on the green table in the lobby.

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 14. (Yes, Valentine’s Day. But how appropriate, since we’re celebrating God’s love for us.) During Lent we will follow both in worship (starting 2/18) and in Bible study (starting 2/19) Mike Slaughter’s shiny gods
and the accompanying first: putting God first in living and giving. From the cover: “What happens when we truly put God first in all aspects of our lives? In a culture guided chiefly by shiny, life-promising distractions, “enough” seems elusive and keeps us
indebted to that next source of satisfaction. What if the Giver of Life offered freedom from this downward spiral—would you take it? In shiny gods, pastor and author Mike Slaughter helps readers reassess priorities and create a culture and a lifestyle of giving
with a special emphasis on missions.”
